I’m gonna be very honest. I have a sweet spot for birth stories!! After doing a hand full of these I just can’t get over the raw emotion of seeing someone you care about become a parent! In the earlier morning on January 4th, while snow covered the grounds in Raleigh, NC at UNC Rex Hospital. A special little baby girl named Olivia Joyce Hughes was born at 4:22 am, weighing 6 pounds and 8 ounces at 19 and a half inches long. Her parents who are my best friends from college did an amazing job and I could not be more proud. Lucian was the ultimate coach encouraging Dana the whole time.Â

After a quick nap and before heading back home, I stopped back by the hospital to check in on the little Hughes family. But ended up staying all afternoon. The postpartum rooms at Rex are huge and their room was on the west side of the hospital and gorgeous light flooded in. How could resist not taking more photos of Olivia.
