Chuck contacted us via email in April about a family session. After my first reply to his email he said that he would also like to propose to his girlfriend Jodie but it was best I called for more information. Finally I was able to talk to Chuck about the details, he didn’t want to have Jodie catching on to this surprise. Chuck and I set up to have a family session on May 8, 2015. It was really important that Chuck’s daughter Caroline was involved. He mentioned something about having a chalk board saying something. Ashley and I discussed it and thought that it would be oh so cute if the chalk board read “Will you marry my daddy?”

               

The session was schedule and ready to go. The location we used was old farm land turned into hay fields. It was so perfect and the weather was even better. Chuck slipped the ring into my camera bag and almost got caught. Whew I was then becoming a nervous wreck. We started the session in a little wild cabbage field that had bloomed in yellow flowers. After a few shots we moved over to another field where the there was tall grass, right under a shaded area. I then told Ashley to grabbed the chalk board that was hidden in my car. I didn’t know who was more nervous, Chuck or us.  

Either way what was about to happen had to go perfect! Caroline who was already holding the chalk board with Chuck and Jodie behind her. There was a problem! Chuck didn’t have the ring yet. My mind was going blank. How was I supposed to get him the ring without Jodie catching on? Ashley and I was already whispering to each other and looking very sketchy! Like a light, flipped on I whispered to Ashley to tell Chuck to come and see what was on Caroline’s face and to remove it. Then I would be able to slip him the ring in front of the chalk board that Caroline was holding.

Now that Chuck had the ring. It was a go! I told Caroline to turn around and show Jodie what was written on the chalk board. Chuck dropped to one knee. Jodie was overwhelm with the most beautiful emotions and I’m lucky we were able to photograph this perfect surprise proposal.

 

  

Jodie’s ring is absolutely beautiful.
