There is so much to say about this past Sunday’s wedding at The Addison Farm. Joseph and Madison’s wedding was the perfect celebration. First off, this was my first time at Addison Farm. It’s wide open and beautiful! Rolling hills of farmland, giant oak trees, gorgeous bridal suite, groom’s cabin set away from the main event barn, and that golden light hits in all the right spots. I could not have enjoyed my first time there more! Of course I’m more obsessed with my couple!!! Joseph and Madison met at the University of Chapel Hill. Cue all the blues in their details! Their wedding also marked the end of the long distance relationship. Joseph had gone to attend University of Miami School of Law and this ended four years of long distance and that is a celebration of its own!
May 26, 2019 was a beautiful spring day with summer weather. No rain. The whole day had such fun, relaxed, and cheerful vibes. Madison put a lot of thought into her details and design, plus she also very talented! Madison did all the calligraphy for the hexagonal colored glass place cards for the tables. Madison also included her adorable dog, Izzy. She was the best addition and so freaking cute!
The ceremony took place on the veranda at Addison Farm with the perfect backdrop of rolling hills and blue skies. Madison had came across a ceremony tradition from Southern Weddings Magazine “Ring Warming” where the rings are passed among the guest and blessed upon before exchanging them. Such a lovely tradition. Their guests even threw them for a twist at the first kiss! Once the minister announced Joseph to kiss the bride, the guests held up numbered markers to rate the first kiss, just to get another kiss out of them!! Madison and Joseph laughed and kissed again! So many heartfelt moments throughout the whole wedding day!
Keeping with the fun and cheerful vibes, their first dance was to John Legend’s latest hit, “A Good Night” which was perfect and well fitting for the couple. I’m not going lie I’ve had this song on repeat all week!!! My favorite part of any wedding is when the bride and groom step out from their reception for a few more portraits with golden light and it sure did shine at Addison Farm. It’s such an intimate moment to have before the sun sets.
Madison and Joseph are so loved by all their friends and family. It’s was the perfect wedding day to be a part of and to celebrate the wonderful couple! They ended the night by leaving in a vintage Rolls Royce. You will just have to scroll down to see the magic we created during their exit. I could probably go on and on about this couple that I’ve obsessed over all week. I just love them! But I’ll leave you with some of my favorite images portraying their entire wedding day. Meet the Cottinghams!!!!! With all my love I hope you enjoy!!! xo – Jodi Gray
