I feel like I’ve known Kayla for much longer than a year, but this July will be the anniversary of our first meeting. It actually lasted for a couple of hours and afterwards it felt like we’ve been friends for years! We both have a love for pretty details, K38 Bueno Mexican Food, Wrightsville Beach, and margaritas! When I finally met Jimmy, last fall, at their engagement session, I knew that they were so special and the perfect pair!
Sunday, June 9th, was like no other day. The forecast had an 80% chance of thunderstorms and it had been storming that Friday and Saturday. Kayla had dreamed about her wedding, photos at Airlie Gardens and then outdoor ceremony at Wrightsville Manor. Rain would have upset all these plans. When I arrived at Wrightsville Manor it started to rain, I started on the bridal details but by the time Kayla and her bridesmaids arrived at the venue it cleared off. It continued to stay clear, bright and sunny. We were so blessed with a beautiful day. I’m still speechless over it. Kayla chose the gorgeous Airlie Gardens for portraits and this is where she also did three first looks, one with her father, one with her brother and one with her soon-to-be husband, Jimmy. Of course, each one pulled on my heart strings. It’s nice to see such a close group of family and friends, all there to celebrate Kayla and Jimmy. If you’ve never been to Airlie Gardens it is stunning, and I’m drooling over all their photos from there.
Jimmy and Kayla used variety of soft pinks and accents of seafoam green. Dusty rose bridesmaid dresses, gray and blush linens, blue suits and seafoam ties, white florals with greenery and soft pink peonies. They even toasted with seafoam colored margaritas made specialty for them.
Kayla’s brother was the special musician, he played as she walked down the aisle and then surprised their father when he had recorded the song for the father – daughter dance.
The whole day could not have been any better! I’m so happy and truly grateful to have been a part of Jimmy and Kayla’s beautiful wedding day! Congratulations to the newlyweds!
